The festive season is all about traditions, and this year we’re starting a brand-new one at Blue Otter Boats! For the very first time, we’ve created an online Advent Calendar 2025 – a magical countdown to Christmas filled with gifts, inspiration, and plenty of canal-themed surprises.

Just like unwrapping a tiny present each morning, our Advent Calendar invites you to open one of 24 little doors of canal joy every day from December 1st to Christmas Eve. Behind each door, you’ll discover something special:

• 🎁 Festive gifts & treats

• 🚤 Canal-inspired ideas for cosy winter days

• 🌟 Exclusive seasonal offers

• 📖 Stories, inspiration, and surprises to brighten your December

Think of it as a digital stocking, brimming with little sparks of cheer to make your countdown to Christmas extra magical.

Here’s a sneak peak at what you can expect to find behind one of the doors!

Why canals at Christmas?

There’s something uniquely enchanting about the waterways in winter. Frost sparkling on the towpath, the stillness of the water under a pale December sky, and the glow of a narrowboat stove warming the night – it’s a season made for slowing down and soaking up the beauty around you.

Our Advent Calendar is designed to capture this spirit, offering daily reminders that joy can be found in small moments, whether you’re afloat on a boat or simply dreaming of your next canal-side adventure.
